Our small but perfectly-formed palette of colours was chosen by designer Louise Glass, whose extensive experience in the world of custom textile design made her perfectly placed to create a range of complementing colours that is both versatile and natural. Louise’s designs can be found in some of the most celebrated period homes in the UK.
Taking inspiration from the beautiful Suffolk countryside, Louise has created a range of modern colours that reflect the timeless joy of raising a young family.
“Choosing the first Little Knights colour range was an honour, but a responsibility too,” comments Louise, “so I specifically chose classic colours with a timeless quality, just like Suffolk itself.
“The colours were carefully chosen to compliment each other and work together in harmony, as well as on their own.”
- Apricot ice cream was chosen to evoke memories of enjoying the beautiful locally made ice creams while strolling along the seafront at Aldeburgh.
- Although not necessarily specific to Suffolk, “greige” is a name Louise remembers fondly from her experience in the world of interior design, being a classy combination of grey and beige, often described as the “perfect interior colour”.
- Long Melford, synonymous with the BBC’s Lovejoy series and renown as one of the Suffolk’s most attractive villages, inspired Louise’s choice of Antique Green.
- No Suffolk range would be complete without mention of two of Britain’s greatest painters, John Constable and Thomas Gainsborough, creators of some the most celebrated landscape paintings of the English countryside. Both feature in our range, see Constable Clouds and Gainsborough Wash.
Rather than being faced with a confusing array of hundreds of similar and overlapping colours, we would encourage you to think of Little Knights as a "capsule" paint range, with each individual colour painstakingly chosen to be simply the most perfect example of its type, helping to take the guessing game out of your colour selection process.Click to view the range >
For a solid, flat and elegant finish that is easy to touch up when required, matte paint is ideal for creating a gentle, soothing finish. It helps to conceal flaws too, making it a good choice for older walls with "character".
Has slightly more lustre than a matte finish, low-sheen rather than shiny. This attractive finish resists stains better than matte paint, and is easier to maintain
Creates an attractive and highly durable high sheen finish, an ideal choice if you want to make a room look bigger. While it is the easiest to clean (just wipe with a damp cloth) Silk paint’s light reflecting properties do make it more difficult to touch up because any difference in sheen will be apparent. It will make imperfections in your walls more noticeable, so it is worth investing a bit of extra time on surface preparation to make your walls as smooth as possible.
Even our gloss paint is zero-VOC! An easy-to-apply, non-drip antibacterial gloss paint that provides a hardwearing, wipe-clean finish for interior and exterior wood and metal. (Please note, the gloss does not share the formaldehyde-absorbing properties of the emulsion paint, but there's still no safer gloss paint on the market!)
